My work is dedicated to the messy, beautiful, and often painful realities of identity, filtered through the eyes of teenagers who are still a little too innocent, a little too optimistic, and not nearly equipped to understand the world they are living through.
I’m fascinated by the mechanics of vulnerability and the lasting impact of trauma, probably because I’ve spent a fair amount of time learning how to carry it all myself.
WHAT I WRITE
I write teens for teens and adults reconciling themselves with their inner child. The strength of vulnerability, authenticity, and the right to be wrong.
WHAT I CARE ABOUT
Social outcasts, awkward romantics, found family, beautifully flawed people—and animals. Always animals.
WHEN I’M NOT WRITING
I’m reading obsessively, walking with an audiobook, or playing impromptu chase and fetch with my co-author and cat: Lili Jenta.
Time to feel.
